My Story

JAX Atelier owner, artist Jacki Geary

Hi, my name is Jacki Geary and I am the artist behind and founder of JAX Atelier!  I’m a multidisciplinary artist who began drawing portraits as a child as soon as I could hold a pencil. I’ve been a professional artist for the last 20 years as a painter, photographer, printmaker and jewelry artist. Jax is one of my nicknames and Atelier means artist studio or workshop in French.

I’m originally from Connecticut, but I live in San Diego, CA. My work is inspired by the west coast vibe, but never forgetting my east coast roots. With all of the different types of art I create, jewelry has become a focal point of JAX Atelier since opening the business in 2018. I love designing one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art. Each creation is as unique as the person wearing it. Bringing people joy through my art is truly a special feeling!

My jewelry palette consists of minimalistic neutrals to classic black and white to vibrant colors that make you feel something at your core. Copper, brass and silver are also a part of my jewelry repertoire. Recently I’ve been incorporating my newfound love of metalsmithing with my sculptural abstract work.

In addition to being artistically expressive, one thing that is important to me is giving back.  Homelessness is a huge problem, especially here in San Diego, and it breaks my heart every day.  In an effort to help others through my creativity, a percentage of each sale at JAX Atelier is donated to local and national homeless charities.  You can find more information on this in the JAX Gives Back tab in the menu.

Feel free to view my paintings and fine art at jackigearyart.com if you'd like to see the other side of my art life!

Thank you so much for coming along on this creative journey!  Much love to you all!
