Hi, my name is Jacki Geary and I am the artist behind and founder of JAX Atelier! I’m originally from Connecticut, but I live in San Diego, CA. Having been an artist my entire life, I’ve held careers as a professional photographer and painter over the last 18 years or so.
You know that nagging feeling you get inside when you’re wanting a different direction in life? Well, in early 2018 I felt like I needed to do something a little different creatively.
Making artsy gifts for people over the years has always made me happy, such as jewelry, paintings, block prints, greeting cards, custom planters, succulent arrangements...you name it! Basically anything handmade that had my creative stamp on it.
Having given much thought about this new artistic path I wanted to venture down, I knew that I wanted to make one-of-a-kind, artful, handmade products. After months of planning, JAX Atelier was born and officially launched in November of 2018!
JAX is one of my nicknames and Atelier means artist studio or workshop in French. I thought it was perfect for this new endeavor!
With all of the different types of handmade products I’ve made since opening this business, jewelry has played a starring role and has become more of a focus. I absolutely love it! Designing and making jewelry allows me to combine all of my creative abilities into wearable art!
But the best part is how the jewelry makes people feel. To be able to bring joy to someone’s life and put a smile on their face makes all of the hard days worth it. Plus, who doesn’t enjoy a little boost of confidence to start your day just by adding a pair of statement earrings to your outfit? I do!
In addition to being artistically expressive, one thing that is important to me is giving back. Homelessness is a huge problem, especially here in San Diego, and it breaks my heart every day. In an effort to help others through my creativity, a percentage of each sale at JAX Atelier is donated to local and national homeless charities. You can find more information on this in the JAX Gives Back tab in the menu.

Thank you so much for coming along on this creative journey! Much love to you all!
